Suzequtrin (苏泽曲林) is an investigational small molecule antipsychotic developed by Jiangsu Supor Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, primarily schizophrenia. It is designed as a multi-receptor modulator that targets dopamine and serotonin pathways to manage the complex symptoms of schizophrenia. Specifically, it acts as a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, a 5-HT1A receptor partial agonist, and a 5-HT2A receptor antagonist. This pharmacological profile aims to provide efficacy against both positive symptoms (such as hallucinations and delusions) and negative symptoms (such as social withdrawal and emotional blunting) while minimizing the risk of extrapyramidal side effects and metabolic issues common with earlier generations of antipsychotics. As of 2024, Suzequtrin is in Phase 2 clinical development in China.
