Overview
Suzi Apu (also known as Suzi Afu) is a traditional Uyghur medicine formulated as an oral tablet, primarily indicated for the treatment of vitiligo and other conditions such as arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. It is a multi-herb botanical mixture consisting of Cymbopogon distans (芸香草), Arnebia euchroma (紫草), and Artemisia absinthium (苦艾). Suzi Apu is designed to promote melanin synthesis, improve microcirculation, and increase skin pigmentation. The drug is approved in China and manufactured by Shaanxi Junbisha Pharmaceutical. Additionally, Xinjiang Yinduolan Pharmaceutical (formerly Xinjiang Huakang Pharmaceutical) is developing a Class 4 traditional Chinese medicine formulation of Suzi Apu tablets, which is currently undergoing Phase 3 clinical evaluation for non-segmental (common-type) vitiligo.
