SV-AI-002 is a preclinical-stage in vivo chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) therapy being developed by SunVax mRNA Therapeutics for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, including myasthenia gravis. The therapeutic candidate utilizes SunVax's proprietary Cell Type Specific Delivery (CTSD™) platform, which is an advanced lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-based delivery system engineered to target mRNA specifically to immune cells such as T cells. By delivering self-amplifying mRNA (samRNA) encoding a CAR directly to target cells in vivo, SV-AI-002 aims to generate transient CAR-expressing cells that can selectively deplete pathogenic immune cell populations responsible for autoimmune pathology, while minimizing systemic toxicity.
