Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Svetol is a decaffeinated green coffee bean extract (*Coffea canephora robusta* P.) standardized to contain over 45% chlorogenic acids. It is primarily used as a dietary supplement for weight management and body composition improvement. The extract's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of glucose-6-phosphatase, which reduces glucose release from the liver into the blood, and the stimulation of lipolysis in adipocytes, leading to the liberation of free fatty acids. Unlike many other green coffee extracts, Svetol is specifically processed to maintain a high ratio of specific chlorogenic acids while removing caffeine, thereby avoiding stimulant-related side effects.
