Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVF-001 is a therapeutic immunotherapy developed by SVF Vaccines (Svenska Vaccinfabriken) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis D (HDV) virus coinfections. Utilizing a proprietary DNA/mRNA vaccine platform originating from the Karolinska Institutet, SVF-001 is designed with a unique antigen design to induce both neutralizing antibodies and robust T-cell responses against genetically stable regions of both viruses. Preclinical studies in humanized-liver mouse models have demonstrated significant and sustained reductions in HBV DNA and HDV RNA levels. The vaccine is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, with hepatitis D as the primary initial indication.
