Overview

SVG104 is an investigational gene therapy being developed by SoVarGen for the treatment of mild malformation of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia and epilepsy (MOGHE). MOGHE is a rare, drug-resistant focal epilepsy characterized by somatic mosaicism in the SLC35A2 gene, which encodes a UDP-galactose transporter. SVG104 is designed as a gene replacement therapy to deliver a functional copy of the SLC35A2 gene to the central nervous system, restoring proper UDP-galactose transport and glycosylation pathways, thereby addressing the underlying genetic cause of the disorder and reducing seizure frequency. The program is currently in the discovery stage.
