Overview

SVG1051 is a pre-clinical investigational antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) being developed by Sovargen, a South Korean biotechnology company. It is designed to target and suppress the mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling pathway, which is a genetically validated target in several neurological and mental health conditions. SVG1051 is potentially a first-in-class therapy with broad potential for 'brain health' diseases, specifically focusing on drug-resistant epilepsy, such as that caused by focal cortical dysplasia type II. In 2024, Angelini Pharma signed an exclusive option agreement with Sovargen to license global development and commercialization rights for SVG1051 outside of South Korea and Greater China.
