SVG301 is a first-in-class antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) drug candidate being developed by SoVarGen for the treatment of BRAF-mutant low-grade glioma (LGG). Administered intrathecally to bypass the blood-brain barrier (BBB), SVG301 directly targets the BRAF gene/mRNA to knock down its expression. In nonclinical studies, administration of the ASO was shown to induce the differentiation of BRAF-mutant neural stem cells into non-malignant, normal oligodendrocytes, thereby demonstrating its therapeutic potential to reduce tumor size, suppress associated epileptic seizures, and improve survival rates. SVG301 is currently in the discovery/preclinical stage of development.
