Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVP-71 is an antifungal antibiotic isolated from the biomass and culture filtrate of the bentonite clay-derived bacterium *Streptomyces* sp. strain SVP-71. The compound exhibits acidic properties and a molecular mass characterized by a major peak at m/z 377.0 in negative ionization mode. It demonstrates broad-spectrum in vitro antifungal activity against various filamentous fungi and yeast-like pathogens, including *Aspergillus* species, *Candida* species (such as *Candida auris*), and *Trichosporon* species. SVP-71 is highly stable, retaining its antifungal activity during long-term storage at room temperature, making it a promising candidate for the development of novel antifungal therapeutics.
