Overview

SVP-rapamycin (also known as SEL-110 or ImmTOR) is a tolerogenic nanoparticle component developed by Selecta Biosciences (now Cartesian Therapeutics) and licensed to Sobi for the treatment of chronic refractory gout. It consists of the small molecule immunomodulator rapamycin encapsulated within biodegradable poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles. SVP-rapamycin is designed to be co-administered with immunogenic biologics, such as the uricase enzyme pegadricase (SEL-037), to induce immunological tolerance. By targeting dendritic cells and promoting the expansion of antigen-specific regulatory T cells (Tregs), it functions to mitigate the formation of anti-drug antibodies (ADAs) that typically limit the efficacy and safety of uricase therapies. The combination of SVP-rapamycin and pegadricase is known as SEL-212, which has completed Phase 3 clinical trials for the management of hyperuricemia in patients with chronic gout.
