Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVS20 is an investigational ophthalmic formulation developed by TRB Chemedica International SA for the treatment of dry eye syndrome (DED). It is a sodium hyaluronate-based solution that functions as a lubricant and ocular surface protectant. By coating the ocular surface, it mimics the viscoelastic properties of natural tears to stabilize the tear film and relieve symptoms such as dryness, burning, and irritation. SVS20 has been evaluated in Phase II clinical trials as an active comparator against standard treatments like carbomer and saline, as well as in non-inferiority studies against other ophthalmic formulations. It is part of TRB Chemedica's established expertise in hyaluronic acid-based products, which are typically marketed under the VISMED brand line.
