Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVT-1A4710 is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) being developed by the Australian company Servatus Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, specifically ulcerative colitis. [17, 31] It is an orally administered formulation consisting of a combination of live bacterial strains. [30] These strains are selected for their ability to modulate the gut microbiome, regulate immune responses, and inhibit inflammatory signals, thereby targeting the underlying dysbiosis and immune dysregulation characteristic of the disease. [17, 31] The company is also investigating its potential use in other autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. [13]
