Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVT-21412 is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution developed by Laboratorios Salvat for the treatment of glaucoma. The formulation combines a prostaglandin analogue with a beta-blocker in a single-dose, preservative-free format. This combination therapy is designed to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) through two complementary mechanisms: the prostaglandin analogue increases the uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor, while the beta-blocker reduces its production by the ciliary body. By utilizing a preservative-free delivery system, SVT-21412 aims to minimize ocular surface irritation and improve long-term tolerability for patients requiring chronic glaucoma management.
