Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SVT-XCLEAR is an investigational live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed by Servatus Limited, an Australian biotechnology company. It was designed as a microbial-based therapy for the treatment of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis and associated Staphylococcus infections. The drug consists of specific bacterial strains selected for their ability to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, particularly *Staphylococcus aureus*, and to modulate the host's immune and inflammatory responses. An open-label exploratory clinical trial (ACTRN12621000543819) was planned to evaluate the safety and efficacy of SVT-XCLEAR in both children and adults, but the study was subsequently withdrawn before completion. The therapy represents a non-antibiotic approach to managing skin dysbiosis and chronic inflammation.
