Overview

SVT23 is a live bacterial strain developed by the Australian biotechnology company Servatus Limited as a component of a topical live biotherapeutic product (LBP) for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Formulated as a topical spray, SVT23 was designed to be administered twice daily in combination with two other bacterial strains, SVT9 and SVT26, to target dysbiosis and immune dysregulation in active atopic dermatitis lesions. A single-centre, open-label, single-arm exploratory Phase 0 clinical study in Australia (ACTRN12622001261718) was planned to evaluate this three-strain combination spray, but the trial was subsequently withdrawn. Specific details regarding the bacterial species of SVT23 and its precise biological targets remain undisclosed.
