SVV-GFP

SVV-GFP is a recombinant Seneca Valley Virus (SVV-001) engineered to express Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP). It is an oncolytic picornavirus that exhibits high specificity for certain tumor types, particularly those with neuroendocrine features. In the context of glioblastoma, SVV-GFP is used as a diagnostic imaging agent to label infiltrative tumor cells in vivo following intravenous administration. This allows for real-time, image-guided fluorescent endomicroscopy during surgery to detect microscopic tumor clusters that are otherwise invisible to standard imaging modalities. The virus selectively infects and replicates in tumor cells, leading to the expression of GFP, which serves as a fluorescent marker for detection.
