Overview

Swine influenza virus vaccine (also known as KT102) is a subunit vaccine candidate developed by Kermode Bio (also known as Porcine Therapeutics) for the prevention of Swine Influenza Virus (SIV) infection in livestock. The vaccine is designed using a computational and machine-learning-driven approach to identify and target highly conserved, mutation-resistant regions of the virus. By focusing on these stable epitopes, the vaccine aims to provide broad-spectrum, long-lasting protection against diverse and rapidly evolving SIV strains, addressing the limitations of traditional vaccines that often require frequent updates to match circulating lineages. KT102 is currently in pre-clinical development, with early challenge studies in swine models demonstrating its potential to elicit robust immune responses and protect against viral infection.
