SY-4835 is a WEE1 inhibitor being developed for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It is administered orally as tablets and works by inhibiting the WEE1 kinase, which plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation at the G2 checkpoint. By preventing the phosphorylation of CDK1, SY-4835 may force cancer cells with DNA damage to proceed through mitosis without proper repair, leading to mitotic catastrophe and cell death. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity.
