Overview

SY001 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor macrophage (CAR-M) therapy targeting mesothelin-expressing solid tumors. Developed by CellOrigin Biotechnology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., it involves the genetic modification of patient-derived peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) macrophages to express a CAR specific for mesothelin. This approach leverages the innate ability of macrophages to infiltrate solid tumors and modulate the tumor microenvironment. It is being investigated for advanced solid tumors, including ovarian and pancreatic cancers, both as a monotherapy and in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors like tislelizumab. SY001 is designed to promote phagocytosis of tumor cells and stimulate a broader anti-tumor immune response.
