SY002

SY002 is a long-acting, sustained-release injection of ropivacaine hydrochloride developed by Beijing Jiacheng Biopharmaceutical Technology Development Co., Ltd. for the management of postoperative pain. Ropivacaine is an amide-type local anesthetic that works by reversibly blocking the influx of sodium ions through voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve membranes, thereby preventing the initiation and conduction of pain signals. The SY002 formulation is designed to provide a slow, controlled release of the anesthetic at the site of administration, extending the duration of analgesia beyond that of standard ropivacaine injections and potentially reducing the need for postoperative opioids. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for indications such as post-surgical pain following bunionectomy.
