Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Syaloset Plus is a medical device developed by RiverPharma that serves as a synovial fluid substitute for patients with degenerative or mechanical arthropathy. The active ingredient is high molecular weight hyaluronic acid sodium salt (1.5% concentration, >2000 kDa) obtained through bacterial fermentation. This sterile, apyrogenic, viscoelastic solution is administered via intra-articular injection directly into affected joints. The mechanism of action involves restoring the viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid, which becomes degraded in traumatic and degenerative joint diseases, thereby providing pain relief and improving joint mobility. Syaloset Plus is supplied as a 4 ml pre-filled syringe and is marketed as a one-shot therapy, though additional treatments may be administered based on individual patient needs. The product must be administered exclusively by medical specialists and is indicated for treating arthropathy affecting various joints including the knee and hip.
