Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Syalox is a multi-ingredient nutraceutical supplement developed by River Pharma for the management of mild-to-moderate knee osteoarthritis. It is primarily available as Syalox 300 Plus, an oral tablet formulation containing 300 mg of high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and 100 mg of *Boswellia serrata* extract. The product leverages the synergistic effects of its components: hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant and shock absorber within the synovial fluid while exerting anti-inflammatory effects, and *Boswellia serrata* provides potent anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting the enzymes cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX). Clinical evidence suggests that Syalox supplementation significantly reduces pain at rest and during movement and improves joint function, potentially by modulating inflammatory biomarkers such as serum adropin.
