SYH2086

SYH2086 is a novel oral small molecule glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by CSPC Pharmaceutical Group, currently in preclinical development and licensed globally (exclusive rights) to Madrigal Pharmaceuticals. It is an orforglipron derivative and is being pursued for combination therapy with Rezdiffra (resmetirom) to enhance treatment for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). GLP-1 receptor agonists act by stimulating the GLP-1 receptor, leading to increased insulin secretion, reduced glucagon release, delayed gastric emptying, and lowered appetite, resulting in glycemic control and weight loss. Preclinical studies show potent in vitro receptor agonism and robust in vivo glucose-lowering and weight-loss effects, with favorable safety and linear pharmacokinetics across tested animal models. Clinical trials are anticipated to start in 2026[1][2][3][5][7][9].
