Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SYH9061 is an inhaled dry powder formulation of nintedanib esilate, a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor, being developed by CSPC Pharmaceutical Group and its subsidiary Beijing Kangchuanglian Biopharmaceutical Technology Research for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Nintedanib acts as a triple angiokinase inhibitor, targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1-3), fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR1-3), and platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFR-alpha/beta). By delivering nintedanib directly to the lungs via inhalation, SYH9061 aims to achieve high local concentrations in the lung tissue while minimizing systemic exposure and associated side effects (such as gastrointestinal toxicity) compared to oral nintedanib. It is currently in Phase II clinical development in China.
