Sym009

Sym009 is an investigational antibody–antibiotic conjugate targeting Staphylococcus aureus, originally developed by Symphogen and later partnered with Genentech/Servier for treatment of serious S. aureus infections. It consists of monoclonal antibodies directed against S. aureus surface antigens conjugated to a potent antibiotic payload, enabling selective delivery of the antibiotic to bacteria while limiting systemic exposure and potentially overcoming resistance mechanisms. The program has been evaluated in early-phase clinical trials (around phase 1/2) in infectious disease settings, including difficult-to-treat S. aureus infections.
