Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Symbiter Forte is a concentrated multicomponent probiotic (live biotherapeutic product) developed by the Ukrainian company O.D. Prolisok. It consists of a symbiotic consortium of 14 to 24 strains of live beneficial bacteria, including various species of *Lactobacillus*, *Bifidobacterium*, *Propionibacterium*, and *Acetobacter*. Unlike many commercial probiotics that use lyophilized (freeze-dried) bacteria, Symbiter Forte is provided as a liquid concentrate, which maintains the microorganisms in an active physiological state, allowing for immediate colonization and metabolic activity upon ingestion. The product is primarily indicated for the restoration of gut microbiota in patients with severe dysbiosis, gastrointestinal infections, and those recovering from intensive antibiotic or radiation therapy. Its mechanism of action involves the competitive exclusion of pathogens, the production of organic acids, vitamins, and bacteriocins, and the modulation of the host's mucosal immune system.
