Overview

SYN-AR-B is an investigational oral botanical drug candidate developed by FUTRUE R&S 2 GmbH for the treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis caused by grass pollen. It is one of three experimental formulations (alongside SYN-AR-A and SYN-AR-C) derived from a proprietary extract of *Astragalus membranaceus* root. The drug is designed to function as an immunomodulator, aiming to alleviate allergy symptoms by balancing Th1 and Th2 immune responses and potentially reducing the production of allergen-specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) and pro-inflammatory cytokines. SYN-AR-B has been evaluated in randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2 clinical trials in Germany to assess its efficacy in reducing the Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS) and Total Ocular Symptom Score (TOSS) in patients with seasonal grass pollen exposure.
