Overview

Syn303 is a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets misfolded and aggregated forms of **α-synuclein**, recognizing a conformational epitope spanning amino acids 1–5 of both human and mouse α-synuclein. Its primary mechanism of action is binding extracellular misfolded α-synuclein, thereby blocking the uptake and cell-to-cell spread of α-synuclein pathology. In preclinical models of Parkinson’s disease (PD), Syn303 administration reduces the propagation of pathological α-synuclein aggregates (Lewy body-like pathology), dopaminergic cell loss, and motor dysfunction. Syn303 can reach the central nervous system after intraperitoneal administration, showing effectiveness in both inhibition of transmission and reduction of established pathology.
