Overview

SYNCAR-100 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen, currently under development by Zhejiang University in collaboration with SynCAR Medicine (Hangzhou SynCAR Biotechnology). It is specifically being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (R/R B-ALL). A distinguishing feature of SYNCAR-100 is its clinical dosing regimen, which involves four weekly intravenous injections rather than the single infusion typical of conventional CAR-T products. This multi-dose approach suggests a transient CAR expression profile, likely achieved through mRNA electroporation or a similar non-integrating technology, designed to provide controlled therapeutic activity against CD19-positive malignant B cells while potentially mitigating long-term toxicities associated with permanent CAR-T cell persistence.
