Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Synfo (marketed as Eyestil Synfo or Hyalistil Synfo) is a preservative-free ophthalmic solution developed by SIFI for the management of dry eye disease (DED) and the protection of the ocular surface. The formulation is a unique combination of two natural polymers, sodium hyaluronate (0.2%) and xanthan gum (0.2%), which provide synergistic lubricating, hydrating, and mucomimetic properties to stabilize the tear film. Additionally, Synfo incorporates the osmoprotectants glycine and betaine, which help maintain cellular homeostasis and protect corneal epithelial cells from hyperosmotic stress and oxidative damage. By restoring the physiological balance of the ocular surface, Synfo provides long-lasting relief from symptoms such as burning, irritation, and foreign body sensation. It is often used in patients with moderate to severe dry eye or those undergoing ocular surface repair.
