Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SyNic is a high-purity synthetic nicotine product line developed by Zanoprima Life Sciences, produced through a patented non-tobacco-based process. The product line includes a transdermal patch (SyNic Transdermal Nicotine Patch) and oral nicotine products (white snus). The transdermal formulation is being developed for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and age-related cognitive decline, based on the neuroprotective properties of nicotine. As a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist, it aims to modulate cholinergic signaling. The synthetic production method ensures the absence of tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) and other impurities associated with tobacco-derived nicotine, potentially offering a safer profile for long-term therapeutic use.
