Overview

SynKIR-130 is an investigational multi-chain KIR-CAR T cell therapy being developed by Verismo Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors, specifically mesothelioma and ovarian cancer. It utilizes the proprietary KIR-CAR platform, which is designed to mimic the natural signaling of Killer Immunoglobulin-like Receptors (KIR) found on Natural Killer (NK) cells. Unlike traditional CAR T cells that use a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) linked to CD3-zeta, the KIR-CAR platform uses a multi-chain receptor structure that incorporates signaling through DAP12. This approach aims to improve T cell persistence and metabolic fitness within the immunosuppressive microenvironment of aggressive solid tumors. As of current reporting, SynKIR-130 is in the early stages of development, and its specific molecular target has not been publicly disclosed.
