Overview

SynOV1.1 is an investigational cancer immunotherapy developed by Beijing SyngenTech. It is a recombinant oncolytic adenovirus engineered to selectively replicate in tumor cells, particularly those expressing alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), using an enhanced AFP promoter for tumor specificity[6][2]. SynOV1.1 encodes human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), which stimulates anti-tumor immune responses by recruiting and activating immune cells within the tumor microenvironment[2][6]. The therapy aims to induce direct lysis of cancer cells and enhance systemic anti-tumor immunity, with primary indications in advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including late-stage liver cancer[5][3].
