Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Synovex Plus is a veterinary growth-promoting implant developed and distributed by Zoetis Inc. for use in beef cattle production. The product is a combination of two active hormonal ingredients: trenbolone acetate (200 mg), an anabolic steroid, and estradiol benzoate (28 mg), an estrogenic hormone. Formulated as a subcutaneous implant consisting of eight pellets, it is administered in the ear of cattle to increase the rate of weight gain and improve feed efficiency in beef steers and heifers fed in confinement for slaughter. The mechanism of action involves the modulation of hormonal pathways to enhance protein synthesis and metabolic efficiency. Synovex Plus is FDA-approved under NADA #141-043 and is strictly indicated for veterinary use in beef cattle, with specific contraindications against use in humans, dairy cows, or breeding animals.
