The synthetic haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccine is a monovalent vaccine developed by Changchun Hiber Biotechnology Co., Ltd. for the prevention of invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib), such as meningitis, pneumonia, and epiglottitis. It is notable for being the first vaccine in China to utilize a chemically synthesized polyribosyl ribitol phosphate (PRP) oligosaccharide rather than one purified from bacterial cultures. This synthetic PRP is covalently conjugated to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein to convert the T-cell independent polysaccharide into a T-cell dependent antigen, thereby ensuring robust immunogenicity and the induction of immunological memory in infants and young children. The vaccine is typically administered via intramuscular injection and provides a highly defined and consistent antigenic profile due to its synthetic nature.
