Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SYS6016 is an mRNA-based vaccine developed by CSPC Megalith Biopharmaceutical, a subsidiary of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group, for the prevention of lower respiratory tract diseases caused by Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The vaccine utilizes synthetic messenger RNA technology formulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNP) to target both RSV-A and RSV-B subtypes. By inducing the production of viral antigens, it triggers a protective antibody response. In July 2024, the Chinese National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) granted clinical trial approval for SYS6016 to enter Phase 1 human trials, following preclinical studies that demonstrated a favorable safety profile and long-lasting immunogenicity.
