Overview
SYS6052 is a recombinant herpes zoster (shingles) vaccine candidate developed by CSPC Megalith Biopharmaceutical (a subsidiary of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group). It consists of a recombinant varicella-zoster virus (VZV) glycoprotein E (gE) antigen produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, combined with a proprietary novel nanoparticle adjuvant system. The vaccine is designed to induce robust humoral and cellular immune responses to prevent herpes zoster and its complications in adults. SYS6052 has received clinical trial approvals in both China (NMPA) and the United States (FDA) and is undergoing Phase I/II clinical evaluation.
