Overview

SYSA1901 is a biosimilar candidate of pertuzumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). Developed by CSPC Pharmaceutical Group, SYSA1901 is designed to inhibit the dimerization of HER2 with other HER family receptors, particularly HER3, which is a critical step in the activation of signaling pathways that promote tumor growth and survival. It is currently being evaluated in Phase III clinical trials for the neoadjuvant treatment of early-stage or locally advanced HER2-positive breast cancer, where it is compared for efficacy and safety equivalence to the reference product, Perjeta.
