Overview

SZN-113 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Surrozen that targets the Frizzled class receptors FZD1, FZD2, and FZD7. It acts as a modulator of these receptors to stimulate Wnt signaling pathways. The drug is in preclinical development for the treatment of eye diseases, specifically Fuchs' Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy (FECD) and Geographic Atrophy (GA). In preclinical models, SZN-113 has been shown to enhance proliferation of primary human corneal endothelial cells, promote wound healing in acute corneal endothelial injury models, and improve corneal clarity. The mechanism leverages Surrozen’s expertise in antibody engineering to modulate Wnt signaling implicated in ocular tissue repair and regeneration[1][2][3][5].
