Overview

SZN-413 is a bi-specific antibody developed by Surrozen that targets the frizzled class receptor 4 (FZD4) and low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5), acting as an agonist to stimulate Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Designed using Surrozen’s SWAP technology, it is intended for the treatment of retinal vascular-associated diseases, including diabetic retinopathy and wet age-related macular degeneration. Preclinical studies have shown that SZN-413 can induce normal retinal vessel regrowth, suppress pathological neovascularization, reduce vascular leakage, and upregulate blood-retina barrier gene expression in endothelial cells. This novel mechanism may allow not only halting but potentially reversing disease progression by regenerating healthy eye tissue[1][2][3][6][8].
