Overview

A monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to the constant region 1 of the human T-cell receptor beta chain (TRBC1). It is most widely known as clone JOVI-1 and is used for the detection of TRBC1-positive T-cell clones via flow cytometry. Its main application is in diagnosing T-cell malignancies (such as cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and other TCRαβ-positive T-cell neoplasms) by identifying clonal T-cell populations, exploiting the mutually exclusive expression of TRBC1 or TRBC2 on T-cells. This antibody is not only a diagnostic reagent but is also being explored as the targeting component in immunotherapeutics, including antibody-drug conjugates and bispecific antibodies for selective depletion of malignant T-cells while sparing much of the normal T-cell repertoire. The JOVI-1 antibody is highly selective for TRBC1, enabling its use in sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic applications[1][2][7][5][8].
