Drug intelligence / Profile preview
T-Fc-GLU-Platin-L-NP is an experimental **prostate-targeted oral nanoparticle formulation** of the cisplatin Pt(IV) prodrug **Platin-L**, developed in an academic setting for resistant prostate cancer. The underlying active drug, Platin-L, was reported to bind **carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A** and inhibit **fatty acid oxidation**, thereby forcing prostate cancer cells into a more glucose-dependent and chemosensitive state while also delivering platinum-mediated DNA damage after prodrug activation. The nanoparticle formulation was designed as a **biodegradable, prostate-specific membrane antigen targeted nanomedicine** intended to improve tumor delivery and oral administration, and it has shown preclinical safety and antitumor activity in cisplatin-resistant prostate cancer models.
