T003

T003 (also known as PPMX-T003) is a monoclonal antibody targeting the transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1), also known as CD71, developed by Perseus Proteomics for the treatment of polycythemia vera (PV). The drug binds to TfR1 on the surface of erythroid progenitor cells, inhibiting the internalization of the transferrin-iron complex and thereby restricting the iron supply necessary for hemoglobin synthesis and red blood cell production. By inducing a state of controlled iron deficiency at the cellular level, T003 aims to suppress the excessive erythropoiesis characteristic of PV, potentially reducing hematocrit levels and the clinical requirement for frequent phlebotomy. T003 has been investigated in Phase 1 and Phase 1/2 clinical trials (such as PPMX-T003-CT102) to evaluate its safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamic effects in patients with this myeloproliferative neoplasm.
