Neuro-Bio is developing a T14-targeting antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) as an RNA-based therapy for Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. The therapeutic is designed to target and reduce the expression of T14, a 14-amino acid peptide derived from the C-terminus of acetylcholinesterase (AChE). Neuro-Bio's research suggests that T14 is a toxic signaling molecule that drives neurodegeneration in the adult brain. By using an ASO to block the production of this peptide at the genetic level, the company aims to halt the progression of Alzheimer's disease. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
