Drug intelligence / Profile preview
T25-Fast refers to the fasted administration condition of T25, an investigational oral tablet formulation of octreotide acetate developed by Triastek. T25 is manufactured using Triastek's proprietary Melt Extrusion Deposition plus Semi-Solid Extrusion (MED&SSE) 3D printing technology platform (3DμS®-OM), which is designed to create unique internal and external microstructures that optimize the oral delivery and bioavailability of macromolecular peptide therapeutics. Octreotide acetate is a synthetic long-acting analog of endogenous somatostatin that acts as an agonist at somatostatin receptors, primarily subtypes 2, 3, and 5. By binding to these receptors, it inhibits the secretion of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). T25 is being developed for the treatment of acromegaly, aiming to provide a more convenient oral alternative to traditional injectable somatostatin analogs.
