Drug intelligence / Profile preview
T2625 Topical is a topical anti-virulence small molecule therapy under development by Arivin Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic open wounds infected with Gram-negative pathogens, including *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, *Acinetobacter baumannii*, and *Klebsiella pneumoniae*. Discovered using the company's FAST-P (Future-proof Anti-infective Screening Technology Platform) screening platform, T2625 is a synthetic macrocycle designed to target both offensive and defensive bacterial virulence factors. It binds to and neutralizes bacterial toxins (such as lipopolysaccharides and homoserine lactones) that drive inflammation and tissue damage, while simultaneously disrupting the extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) that sustains bacterial biofilms. Because it is non-bactericidal and non-bacteriostatic, T2625 avoids promoting rapid resistance development and is intended to be used as a stand-alone or complementary therapy alongside standard-of-care antibiotics.
