Drug intelligence / Profile preview
T3P-Y008 is an experimental microbial immunotherapy being developed by T3 Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Boehringer Ingelheim. It is part of a series of candidates based on the company's proprietary T3 Protein Delivery Platform, which utilizes engineered, attenuated *Yersinia enterocolitica* bacteria to deliver therapeutic proteins directly into solid tumors. The bacteria are designed to selectively colonize the tumor microenvironment, particularly hypoxic and necrotic regions, and use a natural Type 3 Secretion System (T3SS) to inject functional protein cargoes directly into the cytoplasm of tumor cells or the surrounding milieu. This localized delivery approach is intended to provide high therapeutic concentrations of agents such as cytokines or immune modulators while minimizing systemic exposure and associated toxicities. T3P-Y008 is currently in the preclinical stage of development for the treatment of various solid tumors, following the lead clinical candidate T3P-Y058-739.
