Overview

TA-99 is a murine monoclonal antibody of the IgG2a isotype that specifically targets tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TYRP1), also known as glycoprotein 75 (gp75). TYRP1 is a membrane-bound melanosomal enzyme involved in melanin biosynthesis and is highly expressed in melanocytes and melanoma cells. TA-99 is widely used as a gold-standard research tool in preclinical oncology, particularly in the B16F10 murine melanoma model, to evaluate the efficacy of immunotherapies, vaccines, and combination treatments. Its mechanism of action involves binding to TYRP1 on the surface of tumor cells, which triggers antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), leading to tumor cell lysis.
