TAA-CTL refers to tumor-associated antigen (TAA)-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, an investigational cell therapy product. These are autologous or donor-derived cytotoxic T cells that have been expanded and trained in vitro to recognize and kill cancer cells expressing specific TAAs—proteins that are overexpressed on tumor cells but minimally present on normal tissues. The most commonly targeted TAAs in clinical studies include NY‑ESO‑1, MAGEA4, PRAME, Survivin, SSX2, WT1, and others. The mechanism of action involves adoptive transfer of these ex vivo expanded CTLs into patients with hematologic malignancies (such as lymphoma, leukemia) or solid tumors (such as multiple myeloma and breast cancer), where they seek out and destroy tumor cells presenting the relevant antigens via HLA-restricted recognition. This approach aims to provide a broad-spectrum immunotherapeutic effect by targeting multiple antigens simultaneously to reduce the risk of immune escape by the tumor[2][4][5][6][7].
