TAA-Specific CTLs is an autologous, non-genetically modified adoptive cellular immunotherapy developed by Baylor College of Medicine for the treatment of recurrent or refractory solid tumors. The therapy involves the ex vivo expansion of a patient's own T cells to specifically recognize and target five tumor-associated antigens (TAAs): NY-ESO-1, MAGEA4, PRAME, Survivin, and SSX. These antigens are frequently expressed in various solid tumors but show minimal or no expression in normal human tissues. By targeting multiple antigens simultaneously, the therapy aims to overcome tumor heterogeneity and reduce the risk of immune escape. The product is administered via intravenous infusion and has been evaluated in Phase I clinical trials, such as the TACTASOM study (NCT02239861).
